The Circle Fellowship is the final, long-term stage of Rumi’s Circle Program: a space where scholars who have completed their period of structured support transition into sustained mentorship, community, and purposeful contribution. As individuals regain stability and direction, the Fellowship offers ongoing guidance, peer connection, and limited incidental assistance while empowering members to give back. It is designed to cultivate a living network of people who transform their healing into service, ensuring the circle continues to expand.
Scope
The Fellowship provides continued access to mentorship aligned with each member’s personal, academic, or professional goals; participation in peer-led community meetings; and occasional micro-grants for specific, mission-aligned needs such as professional development, outreach, or urgent incidental expenses. Its focus is on continued growth, reintegration, and purposeful contribution rather than financial stabilization.
Duration
The Circle Fellowship is ongoing. Members remain part of the community indefinitely, with mentorship intensity naturally decreasing as they progress. Micro-grant availability may vary by year based on resources, but fellowship membership itself is lifelong.
Eligibility
The Fellowship is available to individuals who have completed the Rumi Mind Scholarship or occasional those who have otherwise been invited due to meaningful, sustained engagement with the Circle’s values. Fellows must demonstrate stability, continued commitment to growth, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission of reciprocity, compassion, and service.
Selection Process
Transition into the Fellowship typically occurs automatically upon completion of the Rumi Mind Scholarship, following a brief review by the Board or Program Committee to ensure readiness for this next phase. In some cases, an interview or check-in may occur to clarify goals, mentorship needs, and anticipated contributions to the community.
Next Steps
As Fellows progress, many will assume active roles within the Circle or the foundation in general; mentoring new scholars, participating in community projects, advising program initiatives, or contributing creatively and professionally to the Foundation's mission. This phase marks the moment when recipients become contributors, helping shape the future of the program and expanding its impact.
How to Apply
There is no standalone application for the Circle Fellowship. Eligible scholars are invited or transitioned into the Fellowship upon completing their scholarship period. Scholars nearing completion will receive guidance from their mentor and the Foundation regarding timing, expectations, and the simple steps needed to formalize their Fellowship membership.
